Painting with watercolors using the “wet on wet” technique

October 4, 2022

Painting, drawing, modelling,… are activities that children should be able to do every day, as they are very powerful experiences to enhance the imagination. A fantastic activity to experiment with creativity and color is painting with watercolors. Painting with watercolors using the wet-on-wet technique is something that is taught in Waldorf schools and allows to enjoy a most rewarding artistic experience.
In addition, the results that can be obtained are spectacular and the sheets can be used later for many things: such as gift cards, book covers, paper lamps or lanterns.
The intention is to offer children an experience with color, not a shape. And as the paint is placed on the wet paper, the colors flow, blending into each other and creating unexpected beautiful shapes.

Painting with watercolor gives the children very powerful experiences to enhance their imagination.
